Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to everyone from 4E. We have had a wonderful year and it's sad to see 4E move on to Year 5 but I know they will have a fabulous time next year. God bless you all.

Honour Award

Congratulations to Odelia who was the recipient of an Honour Award this month.

Grandparents Day

We all had a wonderful time with our Grandparents last week. I hope the Grandparents enjoyed being a part of 4E for the afternoon. I think we all really enjoyed learning from our Grandparents what it was like to live a few decades ago. 4E were fascinated by the fact there were no computers, television or mobile phones and kids played outside all afternoon. Thank you to all our Grandparents who were able to come for the day.

Awards

Well done to Chloe, Cassie and Abbey who received the PDH award at our Assembly this week. Also, April, Siennah and Phoebe received the Writing award. Congratulations everyone.

Science Day

Yesterday we had a Science day, and we did lots of experiments. We studied about conduction, convection and insulators.

Sculptures

This term we have been learning about sculptures. We have our Giacometti inspired movement sculpture and our silhouette inspired sculptures. Everyone has been enjoying creating three dimensional art work and using different materials than we would normally use.

Science Observations

We had a lot of fun today looking for erosion in the College grounds. We spent time recording and discussing the causes of the erosion we saw.

Mathematics Award

Congratulations to Ryne, Kriti and Eashan for receiving the Mathematics award at assembly this week.

Ozobots

Ozobots are tiny programmable robots. They help students understand the principles of coding. Today we got to play with them and use the colour recognition aspect of the robot to program it to move around a set path. Next term we will be able to use the coding skills we have been learning to write code to program the Ozobots to do other movements.

Book Week Parade

The students were very creative with their costumes at our Book Week Parade this year. Well done to Liam and Brianna for winning the best costumes.

Cricket Gala Day

Fun was had for all at the Cricket Gala Day. We learned new skills and played lots of matches and enjoyed being together. It was great to see all students having a try at batting, bowling and fielding.

Science

This term we are studying Geology. You may have had your child collecting rocks for our class rock collection. We hope to learn to identify rocks by their characteristic and categorise them.
